I don't think Mako is stronger than sane Azula, mainly during the comics, but perhaps he could beat Zuko. And I agree, Sozin was just too powerful. Things everyone needed Sozin's Comet he did alone.

I feel like Azula is the strongest firebender. Her fire is blue, which means it's hotter than regular fire (also more powerful). She can create lightning, also even when she's not in her right mind. I’m sorry but Mako should be placed above Zuko. I love Zuko but he was a pretty mediocre fire bender in comparison to Azula and Mako. He never learned to generate lightening only deflect it and his style wasn’t nearly as controlled or refined. That’s my personal opinion tho.

Sozin annoyed me on this list. He did not singlehandedly wipe out the air nomads. He may not even have taken part in it. He was able to bend heat not fire from a volcano which is something we haven’t yet seen from anyone else. He should probably be higher on the list but not for the reasons you stated. 🤦‍♂️

Well we don’t have a lot of feats for Sozin besides what you just mentioned. But I do agree there reasons for why he is on the list is weird

i def think iron is more powerful than ozai. even with the self doubt mentioned, iroh took the knowledge from the other bending disciplines to create his own fire bending move (something that allowed aang to become an air bending master at such a young age). i think it was also less self doubt and more knowing his place and having the ability of restraint which has been shown multiple times to make firebenders more powerful

Zuko has also made the colorful dragon fire tornado and he’s the only fire bender to ever do so. He also is the only fire bender to ever use fire to fly only using his feet (except Jeong Jeong) but I don’t count him because he was comet boosted and Zuko wasn’t. Also Azula was shown to be able to redirect lightning and was able to generate powerful enough lightning to scare off a spirit that Aang and Zuko couldn’t.

I always found it funny how the most powerfull firebending comes from balance and inner peace and that's why Iroh and Jeong Jeong are so powerfull. And that's why Zuko can't do lightning. Yet Azula can do it even in psychosis, and both her and Ozai are super powerfull even tho they use hate and muscles as their source of bending. It doesn't add up. I also think Zuko learnt to bend lightning later on in life when he was more balanced.
